What is Swarovski Crystal?

The name Swarovski has been associated with high quality jewellery for decades. The Swarovski company have specialised in precision cut crystal glass since the late 1800's and their quality and range have made the name Swarovski renowned with luxury and style in the fashion and jewellery industries, with collaborations with top fashion brands such as Chanel and Louis Vuitton.

The exact process of manufacture of the crystals are of course kept secret, but what we do know is that they are made of quartz, sand and minerals to form a man-made glass. Their precision cutting process creates crystals with a high refraction index, hence their beautiful clarity and sparkle which so much resembles genuine diamonds they are sometimes called called simulated or imitation diamonds (but cost a fraction of real diamonds!). Swarovski also manufacture beautiful crystal pearls which have the feel and look of genuine pearls. These and are ideal for those looking for alternatives to real pearls, or 'Vegan' pearls, as no Oysters are harmed in their making!

I'm delighted to have recently added necklaces, earrings and pendants to my Bonschelle collections featuring these beautiful crystals. Since Bonschelle specialises in bronze toned jewellery I was thrilled to be able to add a range using bronze toned crystals to make elegant gifts for a variety of gifting occasions in particular a  bronze wedding anniversary (8th or 19th).
